Turkish vacation...
In the summer of 2005, we finally made good on our promise to visit Basak Cilay, who had spent the school year 1994-1995 as a foreign exchange student, living with us in Mentor, Ohio.
We spent time in Istanbul with Basak and her fiance, Ahmet Cinar. Our special thanks also to Savas Ulugtekin and his family who hosted trips to Topkapi and a cruise on the Bosphorus.
Then off to Ankara to meet Basak's family. A bus tour of Cappadokia gave us a view of Anatolia.
After a few days on the Mediterranean in Antalya, we rejoined the family for time in Izmir, Salihli and nearby Ephesus.
A final few days in Istanbul completed our adventure.
